In the production process of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) composite coated fabrics, it is crucial to ensure the bonding fastness between the TPU film and the fabric. This not only affects the overall performance of the product, but is also directly related to the product's service life and user experience.
1. Material selection and pretreatment
TPU film selection: Choose a TPU film with high quality and stable performance to ensure its compatibility with the fabric. At the same time, TPU films of different hardness, thickness and color are selected according to different application requirements.
Fabric selection: Choose the appropriate fabric according to the product's use and performance requirements. The fabric should have good breathability, softness and wear resistance in order to form a good composite effect with the TPU film.
Pretreatment: Before lamination, the TPU film and fabric should be pretreated, including cleaning, drying and removing static electricity. This helps remove oil, dust and static electricity from the surface and improves the bonding effect.
2. Selection and use of compound agents
Compounding agent selection: Choosing the appropriate compounding agent is the key to ensuring bonding fastness. Composite agents with good adhesive properties, environmental protection, non-toxicity, and aging resistance should be selected based on factors such as the material, performance, and use environment of the TPU film and fabric.
Use of compound agent: When using compound agent, the dosage and uniformity should be strictly controlled. Excessive use of compounding agent may result in an adhesive layer that is too thick, affecting the softness and breathability of the product; while insufficient use may result in weak bonding. At the same time, it should be ensured that the compound agent is evenly distributed between the TPU film and the fabric to avoid partial unadhesion.
3. Composite process control
Temperature control: Composite temperature is a key factor affecting the bonding of TPU film and fabric. The appropriate compounding temperature needs to be set according to the specific material and thickness of the TPU film and fabric as well as the requirements of the compounding agent. Too high a temperature may cause the TPU film to melt and deform, or even destroy its functionality; too low a temperature may cause the compound agent to be unable to fully penetrate and solidify, affecting the bonding effect. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately control the temperature during the compounding process and ensure the uniformity of temperature distribution.
Pressure Control: Pressure is another important parameter in the compounding process. Appropriate pressure helps the compounding agent form a uniform bonding layer between the TPU film and the fabric. Insufficient pressure may result in weak bonding, while excessive pressure may crush the TPU film or fabric, affecting the performance of the product. It is necessary to set the appropriate compound pressure according to the performance of the equipment and the requirements of the product, and ensure the uniformity of pressure distribution.
Speed control: Compounding speed is also an important factor affecting bonding fastness. A compounding speed that is too fast may result in the compound agent not being able to fully penetrate and solidify, while a speed that is too slow may reduce production efficiency. It is necessary to set an appropriate compounding speed based on the performance of the equipment and the requirements of the product, and maintain it stable during the production process.
4. Post-processing and testing
Post-processing: After the compounding is completed, the product should be post-processed, such as drying, cooling, etc. This helps the composite agent to fully solidify and evaporate, improving the bonding fastness. At the same time, post-processing can also improve the appearance and performance of the product.
Testing: Finally, the product should be tested for bonding fastness. Commonly used detection methods include peel test, shear test, etc. Through these testing methods, we can objectively evaluate whether the bonding fastness of the product meets the requirements. If there are problems, the production process and parameters should be adjusted in time to ensure product quality.
In the production process of TPU composite coated fabrics, ensuring the bonding fastness between the TPU film and the fabric requires starting from many aspects such as material selection, compounding agent use, compounding process control, and post-processing and testing. Only by strictly controlling every production link can we produce high-quality, high-performance TPU composite coated fabrics.
